I, Dr. Shikha Parmar, is working as Director and Professor with GNIT College of Pharmacy, Greater Noida since April 2024. I have total professional work experience of more than 22 years where I have worked with several Institutes of Pharmacy.
I did B.Pharm from B.N. College of Pharmacy, Udaipur, a very well-known Institute of Pharmacy and was awarded with certificate of Appreciation for excelling in B.Pharm. After securing a high GATE percentile score I did M.Pharm in 1998 from L.M. College of Pharmacy, Ahmedabad, a premier Institute of Pharmacy in India. I received Jindal Prize by Indian Pharmacological Society for excelling in M.Pharm. I was awarded Ph.D in Pharmacy in 2010 by Gautam Budh Technical University, Lucknow now known as Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow.
I have published more than 10 International and several national articles in SCI, Scopus indexed journals, a book on mathematical aspects and IVIVC development of extended release products and an Indian Patent. I have also recorded lectures, e-content for postgraduate students, e-PG Pathsala, a project under MHRD, Government of India. I have received a Conference Grant by AKTU in the year 2018.
I have guided several students of M.Pharm and is also a PhD guide. I am a Life member of Indian Pharmacological Society, The Indian Science Congress Association, and a pharmacist, registered with Delhi Pharmacy Council.

Our Department of Pharmacy, One of the premier pharmacy departments of the GN Group of Institutions. The Department of Pharmacy has been in existence since 2018, Plot No. 6-C, Knowledge Park II, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201308 offers 2 years Diploma in Pharmacy with intake capacity of 60 and 4 years Bachelor of Pharmacy fulltime course, with intake capacity of 100.
Pharmacists are health care professionals whose professional responsibilities include seeking to ensure that people derive maximum therapeutic benefit from their treatments with medicines. This requires them to keep abreast of developments and advances in knowledge & technology related to manufacture & use of medicines, professional standard requirements, laws governing pharmacy, etc.
FIELD VISIT
The CPHI and P-MEC exhibition gave glimpses of Indian pharmaceutical breakthroughs, insights, and future trends. The event was an interactive platform for networking and idea exchanges giving students the knowledge of the advancements and improvements occurring in the Indian pharmaceutical business. Faculty and students obtained an understanding of pharmaceutical industry needs for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) such as alkaloids, amino acids, antibiotics, enzymes, and peptides. Products include preservatives, antioxidants, coating materials, sweetening agents, and colorants. Discover cutting-edge advances in the synthesis, extraction, and purification of fine compounds.
It was an illuminating experience for all faculty and students. They gained knowledge of various advancements and improvements in pharmaceutical field along with joyful activities from the exhibition.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT
GNIT College of pharmacy, Greater Noida, organized an industry visit for students enrolled in B. Pharm. 3 rd year On November 27, 2021, the NIAM Analytical and Research Laboratory, UDYOG KENDRA II, PLOT NO. 281 FIRST FLOOR, ECOTECH III, GREATER NOIDA, GBN, UP 201310.
NIAM Labs provides the food and beverage industry with a range of chemical and sensory analytical testing services. Analytical testing, which is frequently referred to as materials testing, is a broad word that refers to a range of procedures for assessing the chemical composition or physical properties of a particular sample. NIAM laboratories are well-established and comprise a diverse range of divisions, including food and beverage testing, pharmaceutical testing, toy testing, and a variety of other related services. Food and beverage analysis is a critical component of product development and quality management in order to ensure product safety and conformity.
HOSPITAL VISIT
GNIT college of pharmacy, Greater Noida, organized an Hospital visit for Pharmacy students On November 26th, 2022, the I.T.S Surya Hospital, Greater Noida, , welcomed B.pharm. and D.Pharm.
WORLD PHARMACIST DAY 25th Sept 2022
World Pharmacist day was celebrated by GNIT College of Pharmacy, GN Group of Institutes, Greater Noida. The event was organized on 26th September, 2022, during 10:00 am – 01:00 noon (On stage event) 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm (cultural activities). Each year welcomes a new theme to develop to showcase the pharmacist in their positive effect on health from research to health care. “Pharmacy united in action for healthier world” is the theme of this year’s. This theme was chosen to reflect the numerous contributions the pharmacy profession makes to health. From research and development of medicines, to educating future pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, and providing direct care, we do all this in the service of our patients and communities.
A Seminar was conducted by our chief guest Dr. Namarata Singh on importance of Pharmacist in medical Profession. The event was concluded by Vote of Thanks by Mr. Anil Sahdev, HOD, GNIT College of Pharmacy.
INDUCTION PROGRAMME
Induction programmed was organized to welcome new entrants to the academic institute and prepare them for their new role. It includes development of theoretical and practical skills, but also meet interaction needs that exist among the new learners. On the same plane, the GNIT College of Pharmacy conducted Induction Programme for the new entrants of D. Pharm. and B. Pharm. The academic year was initiated with lamp blazing and Saraswati vandana. Honorable Chairman Sir has conveyed hearty greetings to the students for the formal start of the new academic year and urged the students to work hard so that they get the desired success in life. Director General Dr. Sharad Agarwal and Director Dr. Anju Gauniya addressed the students by conveying their heartiest greetings all the faculty members of GNIT College of Pharmacy gave detailed introduction to the students.

5. Clinical research - Recently, Clinical research has also opened its door for B.Pharm graduates as Medical Underwriter, CRO, Data Validation Associate, Clinical Research Associate Etc.
6. Drug store or wholesaler - Every registered pharmacist gets a license to run a medical shop. Wholesale Supplier of medicines to other stores is also a good career if you are able to establish fruitful relations with medical shop owners.
7. Pharmaceutical company - Ambitious persons can set up their own manufacturing facility or can market medicines under their own brand name.
8. Pharm D - The Pharm D is a 6 years course but after B.Pharm it is total 3 years course out of which 2 years of academics and 1 year of training in hospital. It involves all the aspects of clinical pharmacology and drug administration covering chiefly drug interactions and adverse effects. It will go to prove more ascents to pharmacist.

PHARMACEUTICS LAB
Pharmaceutical Laboratories help in training the students in the manufacturing and formulation of drugs. Students are well trained in the method of formulating drugs in different dosage forms like, Tablets, Capsules, Parenterals, Ointments creams, Eye drops, syrups, etc. Various practical aspects of Pharmaceutics like Physical Pharmacy, Unit operation, Dispensing Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology, Biopharmaceutics, Community Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, etc are taught to the students. Drug interaction, stability, Self -life studies are carried out. Different aspects of filling, packing, selling, labeling are studied by the students. Cosmetology plays a major role in the present society. Our students are well trained in the manufacturing in cosmetics like Vanishing Creams, Cold Cream, Lotion, Liniment, Hair Dye, Lipstick, Perfume, Shampoo etc. Microbiological screening, testing and anti-microbial activity are carried out in the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Laboratory. The research interest of the Department is in carrying out Pharmacokinetics studies and studies on novel drug delivery system.

PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY LAB
The Pharmaceutical Chemistry division focuses on understanding the physical properties, chemical synthesis, manufacture, and synthesis of medicines. Pharmaceutical chemistry contributes indirectly to the development of chemistry and path ways for synthesis of new drugs. It includes isolation, characterization and synthesis of compounds that can be used in medicine for the treatment & cure of diseases. These labs are well equipped with Ostwald's viscometer, Stalagmometer, Refractometer, digital pH meter, Polarimeter, Conductivity meter, Potentiometer,Colorimeter, Melting point apparatus, Distillation units, Rectification unit, Oven, Muffle Furnace and Ion deionizer, Karl-Fischer Titrator.etc. Various laboratories of this division are-

PHARMACOLOGY LAB
Pharmacology department of Metro College of Pharmacy, Greater Noida trains the students in subject in Anatomy, Physiology & Path physiology, pharmacology & Toxicology. Students are given facilities to understand different system of Human Anatomy & their function & Pathology with tools like, Models, Charts, Permanent Slides, Bones, Skelton etc. After completely well versed with the subject Human Anatomy, physiology & Path physiology students start to learn& make use of Pharmacological laboratories. Here students learn about the General pharmacology, drug dose, dry use, Mechanism of action of drugs, screening of drugs etc. Software for the basic demonstration of Pharmacological experiments is provided. According to the requirements of CPCSEA, Institutional Animal Ethics Committee is constituted to carryout experiments related to the using of animals. A major interest of research in this department is clinical research which is the well flourishing field of Pharmaceutical Research Programme. Well planned and spacious Central Animals House is provided to facilitate the students to learn about the Pharmacological screening methods.

PHARMACOGNOSY
Two laboratories of Pharmacognosy are well positioned for the proper entry of light which is the essential requirement for the microscopical slides to be observed. The labs are well equipped and suitable for various Pharmacognostical studies which the students are undertaking. They provide facilities for the students to acquire skills in learning morphological and microscopical characters of natural drugs using, Compound Microscope, Dissection Microscope & Projection Microscope. Students are trained in the various stages of natural drug research like different types of extraction, separation of groups of compounds, purification and identification of individual compounds and the recharacterization. Sophisticated instrument are used for the Chromatographic and standard Spectroscopic techniques. The major research interest of the department has been in the area of traditional Health care system, with a view of utilization of traditional and folklore remedies into the provision of primary health care. Standardization of herbal drugs which is the major task in the present scenario is also carried out by the students in this department as their project work for the qualitative & quantitative evaluation of Phytomedicine. Further research interest is in the Biotechnological preparation of plant tissue culture of medicinal plants. Students are provided with various tools like ,crude drugs, charts, slides, Photographs etc. to assist them in their learning process.
