The JEE Main 2026 results for Session 1 were published by the NTA on February 16, 2026. The final answer key was also published on the same day, after an intense review of the provisional answer key released on February 4, 2026.
3,04,653 of the 3,55,293 people who registered for the test actually took it. Along with the results, the NTA also released the state-wise, gender-wise, and category-wise toppers’ list for the Session 1 exams.
Candidates who took the exam on January 21, 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29 can now download their scorecards and the final answer key on the official website. They were given a period of 2 days from February 4 to 6, 2026, to challenge the provisional answer key.
After all the challenges are resolved, the NTA eliminated a total of 9 questions across all 10 shifts from the final answer key, which provides a bedrock for the preparation of final results. The highest number of questions was eliminated from the January 22 shift.
A total of 12 candidates received a 100 percentile, out of which 5 were from Rajasthan alone. Other states include Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
However, NTA didn’t release the final results of 68 candidates over suspected unfair means and identity discrepancies.
JEE Main 2026 Session 2 results will be announced by NTA on the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in, tentatively on April 20, 2026. Students can access the direct link for the JEE Main 2026 Results PDF on the official website after it is released.
The JEE Main 2026 exams for Session 1 took place on January 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28 for Paper 1, and 29 for Paper 2, as per the date sheet released on January 8, 2026. Session 2 is set to be conducted from April 2 to 9, 2026.
The City Intimation Slip for Session 1 was released on January 8, 2026, allowing candidates to check their city code, exam centre location, address, contact details, and shift details to plan their travel accordingly. Students can download their city slip and date sheet on the official website.
The admit card for session 1 were released on January 17 and 25, 2026 for different shifts, while the admit cards for session 2 will be released soon on the official website, probably in the last week of March 2026, just 3-4 days before the exam.

NTA also disclosed the state-by-state and gender-wise JEE Main 2026 topper list, and AIR results, while the cut-off percentile for JEE Advanced 2026 will be released after both the results are announced. JEE Main 2025 cut-off marks for all categories include

What is the difference between Marks vs. Percentile?
Your scorecard will display your JEE Main scores and percentile; however, it's critical to comprehend the distinction between the two. While the JEE Main percentile shows how you performed compared to other test takers, the JEE Main marks are the actual points a candidate received out of 300.
NTA employs a score normalization method to standardize candidate scores across shifts. Since each shift has a different degree of difficulty, this is done to make sure that no candidate is given preferential treatment.
A candidate's percentile and rank are established using the normalized marks once they have been computed.
Comparison of JEE Main Marks, Percentile, and Rank Analysis
We have examined data from previous years and produced this table to assist you in understanding the expected scores needed to achieve a score in the 90+ percentile for JEE Main 2026. Following the results, the actual JEE Main scores, rank, and percentile will be updated.

JEE Main 2026 Rank List
The final result incorporating sessions 1 and 2 will be used to generate the JEE Main 2026 rank list. The JEE Main final results will be announced following the results of sessions 1 and 2. The following information will be included in the final JEE Main Result 2026:
- Total points earned during the January/April JEE Main attempt
- The best of the two JEE Main scores if the candidate shows up for both sessions
- The Category of Candidates
- JEE Main Cut-off for JEE Advanced 2026
- JEE Main 2026 All India Rank
Candidates are given category-specific ranks in addition to the All India Rank in JEE Main based on the final results.
Below is a quick explanation of the four stages needed to prepare the JEE Main 2026 Rank List:
- Initially, NTA evenly distributes the test-takers between the two sessions.
- Then, using its marking method, it determines the test-takers' raw scores (+4 marks for a correct response and -1 for a wrong response).
- NTA determines the candidates' JEE Main percentile based on their raw results and the normalization procedure.
- The final JEE Main All India Rank list is prepared using these percentile scores.
JEE Main 2026 Cut-Off Expected
Together with the JEE Main 2026 Results, the JEE Main Cut-off will be made public. To take the JEE Advanced 2026 exam, you must meet the minimal requirements for your category.

- Higher mathematics NTA score.
- Higher physics NTA score.
- Higher chemistry NTA score.
- The MPC papers had a lower percentage of negative answers.
- Candidates will be given the same rank if there is still a tie after this.
