To facilitate universal admission process in under-graduation and post-graduation courses, NTA (National testing Agency) had established common entrance test and named ‘CUET’ exam to provide common platform for student to take test and secure admission in their choice of field interest. To avail such benefits, many central universities, state and independent private universities have participated every year to offer admission to students. Hence, a total of 250+ universities are likely to participate in upcoming CUET 2024 exam and NTA had announced entrance schedule for year 2024.

National testing Agency conducts CUET 2024 exam and it is based on CBT (computer based test) for admission in under-graduate and post-graduate programs. NTA had ruled out eligibility for students to uptake CUET 2024 entrance exam and published officially on their website portal.

CUET 2024 Eligibility for Under-Graduates (UG)

As you are aware, while NTA release notification for application had mentioned eligibility as well and it is remained unchanged till date and would be same as of previous year followed in coming year 2024. Let’s find out eligibility criteria as given below.

• First, student should have passed senior secondary school examination (Class 12) and have scored 50% applied to general category students and 45% applied to reserved category.
• Students choose subject choice while filling CUET 2024 application form and course accordingly with their relevant subjects studied in intermediate level.
• Student must be an Indian national and have an identity proof as well.
• Student can only apply to three of the participating universities with maximum three program option to choose. So, it is advised for student to plan choice of university and program on prior basis as to avoid making wrong choice. 
• Students in final year of intermediate class or passed, must produce eligibility document at the time of counseling. 
• Student qualifying CUET 2024 entrance exam doesn’t ensure admission intake of chosen program in specified university. He or she must fulfill eligibility laid independently by such university. 

So, clearly, admission in under-graduate program, student must have passed or qualified Class 12th exam i.e. senior secondary school examination level from any of the central or state universities including private universities from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks.

Selection Process: While selection in either to under-graduate program or post graduate course, depends upon its performance made in the exam consist of written test along with interview. Hence, students must achieve 80+ marks in CUET 2024 exam.

In order to achieve, high percentile score, student must plan with the selection process i.e. divided into two steps, First is written test and second is interview including document verification. The written test of CUET 2024 exam is held to assess student in their subject and on the basis of merit list, admission is offered.

There should be clarity on marks scored by students in intermediate exam as well as marks scored in CUET 2024 exam and how both co-relate with each other to offer assistance in securing admission in under-graduate or post-graduate program. CUET 2024 exam score is independent score performed by the student that help to rank them in appearing in merit list and invitation for counseling. CUET 2024 exam score might not have direct influence in eligibility but are co-related with intermediate marks score that supplement during counseling in choosing subject stream.

For example, Delhi University had announced criteria for the tie-breaker scenario that include class 12th board examination marks. DU had officially announced for tie-breaker cases where any two students applying for same course, if scored same marks in CUET 2024 exam, then the case will be case tie-breaker and in such cases, student intermediate board marks will be included. In such cases, initially best of three scores will be considered followed by fourth and fifth.

In order to secure admission in post-graduate program in central or state level universities, student must find eligibility to appear in CUET 2024 exam eligibility for PG courses. Student must have passed under-graduation degree from any of the recognized board or university or affiliated colleges  by scoring 55% marks in general category and 50% marks is offered for reserved category people that includes SC/ST/OBC Category people.

Also, there are various areas where CUT-OFF is required from independent colleges.

CUET 2024 Eligibility for Doctorate Courses

Student who are interested to apply for Doctorate program, must hold post-graduate degree in their respective field of interest and should have scored 55% marks applicable to general category students, 50% marks applicable to OBC students and 45% marks applicable to SC/ST/PWD category student.

CUET 2024 Eligibility: Documents Requirement

While appeared in CUET 2024 exam, student during document verification should bring their educational documents for their verification process and to state their eligibility criteria. Following are the documents required and student must secure in advance i.e. legitimate ID card, birth certificate document that demonstrate proof of birth (like secondary school mark sheet and certificate), mark sheet of Class 10th and Class 12th along with passing certificate, degree or diploma passing mark sheet and certificate as well as migration and character certificate. Student must prepare photocopy of all transcript and documents and must ensure to verify during the counseling process.
