- Number of Questions: Each section's precise number may differ slightly from year to year, but generally speaking, each section should have between 22 and 24 questions, for a total of 66–72 questions across the full CAT exam.
- Sectional Time Limit: Every section has the same time limit. You have 120 minutes to strategically manage your time during the exam.
- Non-Calculator Exam: During the exam, no external gadgets or calculators are permitted. The testing software includes a basic calculator that you can use on screen.
- Marking Scheme: 3 marks for each accurate answer. -1 mark for each incorrect answer. Type-in-the-answer (TITA) questions do not carry a negative mark.
