Computer Science and Design is one such discipline in computer engineering that allows human-computer interaction to be more user-friendly, welcoming, and intuitive. Offered by the Department of Engineering at Greater Noida College, our B. Tech computer science and design specialization is a four-year program that promotes an open opportunity for young generations to evolve their core competencies in the field of design.

Our curriculum takes an interdisciplinary approach to give students a solid foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of computer science and design, including the use of new media technologies.

The goal of this program is to prepare students for issues in computing that come up in the arts, sciences, and business as well as in the entertainment industry.

Program Overview

The goal of the B. Tech in Computer Science and Design program at GNC is to produce graduates who are knowledgeable in new media technologies and applications as well as design approaches and computing techniques, tools, and technologies.

The curriculum will equip students for careers in digital media, including gaming, animation, virtual and augmented reality, and more. Students who choose to pursue higher education can also enroll in the program to pursue degrees in design or computer science and technology.

Program USPs

  • Course Curriculum created with Industry Needs in Mind;
  • Grading Scheme incorporating the best practices from top Indian and international institutes
  • Building highly employable students through a dedicated Placement, and Career Development Cell
  • A faculty team with extensive training and experience;
  • A Memorandum of Understanding with professional bodies and industry support
  • Receiver of All Indian Excellence Award from Indian Achiever Podium.
  • Recognized by AICTE, and the Ministry of HRD
  • Affiliated with AKTU

Program Structure

With all the major subjects encapsulated in the core curriculum and a large number of electives, the B. Tech Computer Science and Design (CSD) program at Greater Noida College GNC gives students a great deal of freedom to customize their curriculum and area of expertise. Similar to other B. Tech programs, the first-semester program permits a change in discipline following the first semester. Main courses are offered in the second, third, and fourth semesters. The remaining courses in the third year are electives, with a few basic courses. All courses taken in the last year are electives.

Department of CSD

Department of CSD – Greater Noida College

The Department of CSD at GNC was founded in 2023 with a 60-seat intake. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated with AKTU. The CSD department has the resources to plan and support workshops, technical seminars, expert talks, FDPs, industrial visits, and other activities for students, teaching staff, and non-teaching personnel. The curriculum is structured so that a student can finish it with just advanced coursework.

The Department supports the curriculum with fully functional laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art software and technologies. The project labs are created to allow students studying computer science and design engineering with the best faculties to set an in-depth practical understanding of their profile. Our department library, research centre, seminar halls, and classrooms are all well-equipped.

  • DBMS / COMPUTER GRAPHICS LAB
  • SS & CD /USP LAB
  • R & D/DS LAB
  • COMPUTER NETWORKS/ DAA LAB
  • WEB PROGRAMMING / PROJECT LAB
  • IoT LAB / Cyber Security Lab
  • LOGIC DESIGN /EC/ MICROPROCESSOR LAB
  • MACHINE LEARNING LAB

Program Outcomes

  • Knowledge of computer hardware, system software, networking, algorithms, and databases will be gained by the students.
  • Students will be able to use appropriate data structures and databases for data processing to design, analyse, and build safe, effective algorithms.
  • Using software engineering techniques and modern computer programming languages, students will be able to create standalone, embedded, and web-based solutions with user-friendly interfaces.
  • The capacity to use appropriate algorithms, data structures, and other computing approaches to create and build effective software solutions.
  • Knowledge of design concepts and methods, as well as the capacity to use them to create solutions for social and human issues.
  • The capacity to autonomously research a problem that can be resolved through the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) design process and then create a comprehensive solution (i.e., from identifying user needs through UI design, technical coding, and evaluation).
  • Capacity to show that they can produce research papers, project reports, technical articles, and self-learn.
  • Capacity to work in teams to achieve a shared objective.
  • Students will be aware of one's ethical and professional obligations.
  • Capacity for lifelong learning and self-learning.
  • Students will be able to work on small-scale projects and research activities.
